 Why you’ll Want to Teach TURBO

Turbo Kick® is not your typical group exercise class! It’s far from it.  It’s an addictive, interval based class that allows participants of all fitness levels to participate. The evolutionary process that makes Turbo Kick® unique and ever changing is our ability to identify and fuse the hottest complimentary trends in fitness with the athletic base of every workout. Further, our meticulous selection and production of music that motivates all demographics has become the glue that has kept Turbo Kick® classes in high demand world wide for over a decade. Turbo Kick®   has been designed to be more than a class; it’s an adrenaline rush of music and movement that lifts the spirits, challenges the body and brings people together in the process.

You’ll want to teach Turbo Kick® because we do all the “hard stuff” for you so you can focus on what’s most important to your success… YOU! Our Instructor Training is distinct from other organizations programs. We believe there’s more to being a great instructor than proper technique, precise cueing, and perfect choreography. Turbo Kick® instructors are trained in the art of engaging, connecting and affecting the experience of each participant. In short, as the instructor you are the host of the ultimate party (cardio party that is!) It is our mission to give every instructor the tools and knowledge they need to deliver an exceptional experience in each workout. Turbo Kick® delivers cutting edge material that promises to sustain popularity and member interest year after year but without the personal touch of the individual instructor our efforts would be for not. 

What makes Turbo Kick® instructors different? We hope that each Turbo Kick® instructor will work to develop many skills and practices that set them apart from the pack. First and foremost, Turbo Kick® instructors must recognize their obligation to emphasize the importance of “fun” in fitness. Let’s face it, with the shameful notoriety of being the fattest nation in the world, as fitness professionals we have an obligation to get people moving. By making exercise “fun” and helping people feel better about them- selves, we improve the chances that they will stick with a fitness routine. In the previous decade, health clubs and group fitness classes had evolved to a point that new exercisers and the light hearted felt brushed to the side. In the process of taking ourselves too seriously, we realized that obesity had indeed become a serious epidemic. We believe instructors have a responsibility to accentuate fun in every aspect of their Turbo Kick® class and make each class feel like a celebration.

We save you time and frustration by providing you with the music and the choreography, so you can spend your time preparing for your class with the same forethought and attention to detail that you would use in hosting a party in your own home. Turbo Kick® prides itself on the simple fact: it’s FUN!    Creating that atmosphere is crucial to that Turbo vibe.  Be a great host.  Let loose.  Have fun!  Create excitement and turn your class into a truly entertaining and uplifting experience.  People will wonder where the hour went.  This is the environment that helps participants (especially the new folks) to feel welcome, noticed, important, empowered, strong, athletic, hip, youthful and even sexy!

Sexy? Absolutely! To feel sexy is to feel confident. Confidence is more than a state of mind; it’s an overall self-belief and state of wellbeing. Exercise should help people feel strong, empowered, energized and youthful. Turbo Kick® instructors should embody and project these qualities of confidence regardless of their own age or body type.

Hi Chalene I have really been thinking about becoming a Turbo Instructor because I LOVE turbo and I want to introduce it to everyone I know so they can find happiness and great results like I have. I have been thinking about what I can do for some extra income in these hard times and was thinking this maybe it!! Plus there isn’t any turbokick classes any where near the small town or Iron Mountain, MI so that way other turbo peeps can come enjoy a group fitness class :) THANKS Chalene for being so inspiring

Hi Chalene! I am a TKB instructor. I was certified by Mindy Lawhorne in Tx. a couple years ago. (I actually got to meet you when you came out! I was the sad girl with the wisdom teeth that just had to watch the workout) I was a member in the back, then the middle and then what I like to call a Turbo Diva in the front. After that I made the leap to instructor. I LOVE IT! It has changed my life! I may not be at my fitness and health goals yet BUT I love the journey with my members and friends! I love the way I feel and the opportunity I get to inspire other REAL women and men just gettin out there and doin what it takes to get healthy! I have had some of greatest mentors to get me to this point and I think it is this format that draws that quality of person in!
